Swimming With Wild Dolphins

Bottlenose Dolphin BiminiRead Jamie’s blog: Cetacean Inspiration – promoting freedom and the end of all captivity of marine mammals. In her post she compares the difference in experiencing dolphins in the wild versus captivity.

A very good read – keep going Jamie!

Bad Eating Habits

Atlantic Spotted Dolphins BiminiAnother strong reminder not to handfeed dolphins or in fact any wild animal. A dolphin called “Beggar” is setting a bad example with wide reaching consequences. It might look cute on the pics but it does not any good for the wildlife. Interesting is the comparision of rewarding schoolkids with unhealthy food for good results.

Check out this great website from the Ionian Dolphin Project. Amazing work and research happening in Greece.
I like the section called “Be Dolphin Smart” and the “Report Sighting” function. I found the site through the unbelievable photo series of an octopus attaching itself to the dolphin’s belly.
Enjoy browsing!

July Favourite

That is what friends are for – diving deep and looking after each other! Our July favourite shows a group of Atlantic spotted dolphins playing in the vast blue ocean. So close and intimate and yet so individual.
