Tracking Endangered Dolphins With Drones
Hi-tech silent drones could be used to fish out the whereabouts of the elusive and endangered Maui’s dolphins. The quest to save Maui’s dolphins has been at the centre of a controversial law change that will see an existing set-net ban extended along the entire Taranaki coastline, affecting the commercial fishing industry, which catches most of its fish within the 3.7km ban zone. Another article suggests that the outcome will show that no dolphins are endangered and the ban will be lifted again in no time.
Dolphin In Mourning
This is heartbreaking – a dolphin mama is carrying the body of her dead calf through the waves. The pictures were taken off the coast of the Guangxi Zhuang region, in China. The ‘mourning ritual’ is rarely caught on camera. So sad

SOFREP – Dolphin Combat
We came across an interesting site: SOFREP.COM (Special Operations Forces Report). Read about the US Navy’s Deadly MK6 Attack Dolphin Program. Wow, didn’t know something like this existed – this is scary. The Navy uses dolphins and sea lions to find and mark the location of underwater objects. Sources disclosed that there is a weaponized dolphin program in place – at least in the late nineties.
Dolphin Take Flight
Check this video on Grind TV – showing orca whales hunting down hundreds of white-sided dolphins in Hyacinthe Bay, British Columbia. What an amazing sight the whales trying to trap the dolphins and the dolphins making a dash for their lives.
